You’ve heard it, right? Once you start going to a chiropractor you have to keep going…forever! Well, obviously that’s not true. You certainly do not need to go forever. In fact, how long you choose to benefit from chiropractic care is entirely up to you. The role of a chiropractor (or any health care practitioner) is to serve as a “coach” and to help you make the best health care decisions based on clinical experience and best practices.
My primary responsibility in caring for a patient is to formulate an accurate diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan. Oh yeah. About that treatment plan…..it is short term focused. I typically make recommendations for no more than an initial three week period of care, and many times not even that long. That period of time is typically long enough for us to be able to evaluate our level of sucess in treating your presenting complaint(s). In fact, in many cases, patients get initial results in even less time than that. Once we determine your initial treatment response, we can decide how to proceed. In some cases (like work injuries and car accidents) it can take much longer to acheive desirable results. However, for many folks, chiropractic care can deliver excellent results in a very short period of time. That, my friends, is our goal!
