Managing Pain

Did you know that 20% of American adults experience pain every day? The most common type of pain is chronic lower back pain, and people over age 45 are more likely to experience that.  A staggering 50% of Americans report suffering chronic headaches.  All told, pain is a problem of epidemic proportions in the United States.

As a society, we have learned the dangers of an opiod-first approach to managing pain.  According to the CDC, between 1999 and 2018 nearly 450,000 people died from overdose to both prescription and illegal opiods.  In fact, in 2017 the United States Health and Human Services declared the opiod epidemic to be a public health emergency.  Is it any wonder why?  The toll of death and destruction caused by this public health disaster goes well beyond any statistic.  The real toll is evident in the lives lost and ruined in the wake of opiod abuse.

Chiropractic offers a drugless way of managing pain.  At Bell Chiropractic Injury and Pain we offer various ways to help with your pain, including spinal adjustments, electrotherapy, Class 3B laser, non-surgical spinal decompression and hydromassage just to name a few.  I’m also certified in nutritional pain management by the Academy of Integrated Pain Management, in a program that I took at Harvard Medical School.  The bottom line?  We can either help you or get you to someone who can?
